LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A passenger has been pronounced dead and a driver and passenger are seriously injured in the aftermath of a two-vehicle crash in Lehigh Acres early Saturday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), at around 4:55 a.m. a pickup truck was headed east on Lee Boulevard in the left turn lane approaching a red light at Alvin Avenue. A second vehicle was traveling west on Lee Boulevard in the outside lane.
The truck turned left in front of the approaching westbound vehicle, hitting the side of the vehicle and coming to rest at the intersection, FHP said.
According to FHP, the westbound driver and one of the passengers were hospitalized with serious and critical injuries. The other passenger, a 67-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
This crash remains under investigation.
