100 mph car chase in Immokalee leads to drug arrest

IMMOKALEE, Fla – Collier County Sheriff’s Office makes an arrest after a traffic stop turns into a 100-mile-per hour chase.

Deputies attempted a simple traffic stop on John Ross Alvarez due to a high window tint near the Pure Gas Station on New Market Road East in Immokalee around 7:00pm on Wednesday.

Alvarez fled the scene, running multiple stop signs and barreling down residential streets at speeds upwards of 100 miles per hour.

CCSO deployed road spikes, and Alvarez was apprehended, according to reports provided to NBC2. He was stopped on Manatee Road.

Alvarez faces charges of eluding police, possession of a synthetic cannabinoid and driving with an expired license. He is now out on bond.
