2 teens arrested for Cape Coral vehicle burglaries

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Two teens have been arrested in Cape Coral for their involvement in vehicle burglaries.

According to the Cape Coral Police Department (CCPD), officers responded to the scene at the 2700 block of NE 2nd Ave for a suspected vehicle burglary.

Two teens matching the suspect description were seen hiding behind a parked vehicle when officers arrived at the scene, CCPD said.

According to CCPD, the boy identified as 14-year-old Jontaviaus Crawford was detained by police. A second unidentified teen ran from the scene.

15-year-old Keon Stokes was considered a possible suspect in the case. Stokes was not home when officers initially arrived. Stokes later returned home and was arrested for violating his curfew, CCPD said.

Stokes denied any involvement in the vehicle burglaries. He was arrested back in February for stealing a vehicle in Lehigh Acres.

Crawford faces charges for the vehicle burglaries.
