7,000-acre brush fire sparks in the Everglades

EVERGLADES, Fla. — A 7,000-acre brush fire broke out in the Everglades Monday morning, the Everglades Florida Forest Service tweeted.

The fire broke out along Mile Marker 38, north of Alligator Alley.

There are no threats to vehicular traffic, but the FFS and Florida Highway Patrol crews will monitor for updates throughout the day.
