Cape Coral man gets 2 years in prison for meth possession


FORT MYERS, Fla. — A man was sentenced to two years in prison and three years of drug offender probation.

Lee County Sherrif’s Office responded to a disturbance at a home in North Fort Myers in May 2021. Deputies found Guillermo Garcia Hembree with a plastic bag between his feet with some kind of white crystal substance inside.

When test results came back on the substance, deputies said it tested positive for methamphetamine.

Hernandez was found guilty as charged of possession of a controlled substance.

In addition to today’s verdict, he also faces charges of sexual assault, obscene material distribution and lewd and lascivious behavior on a child under 12.
