COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A Collier County third-grader is being hailed a hero after she saved another child from nearly drowning.

Lily Hall, a student at Naples Classical Academy, was at a birthday party when she noticed another child at the bottom of a swimming pool. She pulled the unresponsive boy out of the water and got him to the side, where several adults intervened and performed CPR.

The boy was revived and was able to recover from the near drowning.

To celebrate her heroic actions, The Collier County Sheriff’s Office honored Lily with their “Do The Right Thing” award. Deputies drove up to recognize her efforts and presented her with a trophy and certificate.

The “Do The Right Thing” program was established in 1998 and has honored hundreds of children for acts that reinforce good behavior, positive acts, and outstanding accomplishments in the community.
