ALVA, Fla. — A suspect has been apprehended by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) in reference to a domestic disturbance that occurred Wednesday morning in Alva.
Two nearby schools – River Hall Elementary and Buckingham Exceptional – were put on lockdown for about 20 minutes, according to Rob Spicker, the spokesperson for the Lee County School District.
“River Hall was on Lockout for about 20 minutes from roughly 8:25 to 8:45 because of off-campus law enforcement activity. It was during the usual student drop-off period, so no one was allowed on campus until the all-clear was given,” said Spicker.
Buckingham Exceptional doesn’t start until 9:30, so it did not have the same impact on student drop-offs.
This is an active investigation.
