Fort Myers road collapses after car collides with fire hydrant


LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A car crashed into a fire hydrant and caused significant road damage Friday afternoon.

The crash occurred in front of Galeana Kia near Harper Road. South Trail Fire Department said that the fire hydrant was snapped at the main line.

A sinkhole was created due to the amount of water being washed out.

Lee County Utilities are responding to shut the water off.
