Man dies in boating incident near Stump Pass


CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — A man died in a single vessel boat crash near Stump Pass in Charlotte County.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the incident happened at approximately 4 p.m.

Two people were onboard the boat at the time of the incident. An adult man suffered injuries in the crash and a good Samaritan performed life-saving tactics until officials arrived onto the scene, according to the FWC.

The man was later declared dead on the scene. The second occupant did not suffer any injuries, according to FWC.

Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and Englewood Fire Rescue also responded to the scene.

The FWC said it is investigating the incident.
