Man wanted for $3K money order fraud scheme at Lehigh Acres Walmart

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — Detectives are seeking to identify a man accused of stealing $3,700 from a money order through a fraud scheme at a Lehigh Acres Walmart.

According to SWFL Crime Stoppers, on July 29 a man went into the Walmart at 2523 Lee Boulevard and requested a $6,000 money order. The clerk counted and confirmed the money the man put up front.

The suspect reportedly then asked if he could re-count the money and when the clerk looked away, the man put $3,700 in his pocket and only gave her $2,300 back, Crime Stoppers said.

According to Crime Stoppers, the man then completed the $6,000 money order and used a fake drivers license to finish the transaction.
