Pedestrian takes off on foot after being hit by taxi in Fort Myers 


FORT MYERS, Fla. — A pedestrian took off on foot after he was hit by a taxi early Friday morning in Fort Myers. 

The Fort Myers Police Department and EMS were called to the scene at Boy Scout Drive and Summerlin Road. 

NBC2 crews arrived and were told that the man who was hit had been standing in the road and appeared to be drunk. 

When the taxi driver went to call for medical attention for the man, the man refused and took off running. 

FMPD and EMS searched the area but were unable to locate him.
