Record high temp tied in Fort Myers

Fort Myers warmed to 97 degrees on Wednesday, August 24, tying the record high for the date originally set in 2014.

This makes for the fourth record high that has been tied or broken in the city since Saturday.

Consistent, daily temperature records have been kept by the National Weather Service in Fort Myers since 1902 at Page Field Airport.

The average high for late August in the city ranges between 91 and 92 degrees.
