Ruskin man injured in crash after motorcycle overturns multiple times

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — A 19-year-old Ruskin man was critically injured after his motorcycle overturned several times along U.S. 41, south of 45th Street East.

The crash happened at approximately 4:25 p.m. on Thursday.

The man was traveling south on U.S. 41 in the left lane at a high rate of speed, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

He failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, causing his motorcycle to travel off the roadway, enter a grass median and overturn several times, according to FHP.

The Ruskin man fell from his motorcycle and suffered critical injuries. He was transported to an area hospital. His current condition is unknown at this time.

The crash remains under investigation, according to FHP.
