Student approached by stranger at bus stop in Collier County

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Collier County deputies are investigating after a middle school student was approached by a stranger at her bus stop Tuesday morning.

At around 7 a.m., the student was at her bus stop on Isles of Capri when a man pulled up in an SUV and told the girl her mother asked him to pick her up and bring her to school.

When the school bus pulled up, he drove away, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

The man is approximately 60-70 years old, has black hair, has two visible scars on his face, and has a tattoo on his upper right arm. He was last seen wearing a red polo shirt.

The vehicle is an older model, powder blue SUV with a Minnesota license plate. The SUV has a heart-shaped sticker on the back that says “I [heart] Minnesota,” with purple dice hanging from the rearview mirror.
