NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Three men were arrested for stealing and destroying a tiny home in North Fort Myers.

Brothers, Kevin Padilla (64) and David Padilla (68) were arrested. Phillip Aust (36) was also arrested in the crime.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), the Pioneer model home was last seen on Tuesday, June 7 and was worth approximately $30,000.

Investigators learned a silver Ford F-150 was seen towing the home away from Howell Drive and Church Drive. Eventually, deputies found a smoldering debris pile along with wooden beams and other items the victim used to build his home.

The silver F-150, that was seen transporting the home, was found near the debris.

After a search by investigators, several items were located on the property that matched the tiny home’s description.

The Padilla brothers were charged with grand theft and Aust was charged with conspiracy.
