Tracking the Tropics: Low development odds on two tropical waves

We are nearing the peak of The 2022 Hurricane Season. As we do so, we are tracking tropical waves for potential development.

The one closer to us will have to be monitored closely over the next 7 days as it enters the western and central Caribbean. This area is more conducive for slow development.

However, with that being said, odds of development in the short-term do look very low. The National Hurricane Center continues their 20% chance of development in the coming 5 days.

The other area to watch is a newer wave off the coast of West Africa. This tropical wave look to struggle in the coming days but will be watched for slow development as it makes way further out into the Atlantic.

Odds right now are also very low for this wave at just 10% in the next 2 days and 20% in the next 5. Count on the NBC2 First Alert Hurricane Tracking Team to keep you informed and prepared as we head into the typical busy month of Hurricane Season.
