Woman found dead in Matanzas Pass Preserve, no foul play suspected


FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a woman found Monday morning in the Matanzas Pass Preserve area on Fort Myers Beach.

Her body was found near a pond where some hiking trails intersect by a person walking the nature trail.

The death is not suspicious, and there were no signs of foul play, according to LCSO.

Identification of the body and next of kin notifications are pending.
